Brief Overview of Uniben

This is a government institution that was brought to existence on the 23rd of November 1970 by Colonel Samuel OsaigbovoOgbemudia a Military led administrator in the Midwest state. 

It was first known as the Midwest Institute of Technology. 

As time went by, the institute met the requirement of the National Universities Commission on the 1st of July 1971 and the name was changed to the University of Benin. In 1975 It became a Federal Government University. 

Commencing its first Academic activities at Old Teachers Training College on Ekehuan Road with about 109 students.

Uniben has fifteen faculties, one college, and three institutes. The school offers postgraduate and undergraduate academic activities, among students annually, and offers a variety of courses. This institution has affiliations with schools like Lagos State University, Akoka, College of Education Warri, Asaba, Mosogar, National Institute for Legislative and democratic studies.

Deadline for Some Registration 

• Late Registration of courses and payment for school Fees comes with a charge of 10,000 Naira. 
• Final Registration with penalty 
• Registration portal closed for the session 

It is important to note that any student who didn’t pay his or her school fees or register for a course before the portal closes will have to suspend his or her studies not minding the Commitment to the semester.
